Atlas Arrows · Logan Land — Effective September 10, 2026
Every puzzle in Atlas Arrows is cut from the real outline of a real place, so the
app stands on open geographic data, open fonts and open-source software. This page credits that
work and states the licence each one is used under. Corrections are welcome at
atlasarrows@loganland.app.
01 Country outlines — Natural Earth
The silhouette of every country in the campaign is rasterized from
Natural Earth (1:50m Admin 0 — Countries).
Natural Earth is in the public domain; no permission is needed and none of its authors
endorse this app. Made with Natural Earth.
02 City boundaries — OpenStreetMap
City stages are cut from administrative boundaries retrieved through the OpenStreetMap
Nominatim service.
- © OpenStreetMap contributors. The boundary data is available under the
Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0;
the cartography we derive from it is ours. See
openstreetmap.org/copyright.
- The boundaries are simplified and rasterized into a coarse cell grid to become a
puzzle board. They are a game abstraction and are not suitable for navigation or for any
judgement about borders.
03 Selected city boundaries — geoBoundaries
For a small number of cities whose OpenStreetMap boundary was unusable, the shape comes from
geoBoundaries, used under
CC BY 4.0. Attribution: Runfola, D.
et al. (2020) geoBoundaries: A global database of political administrative boundaries,
PLoS ONE 15(4): e0231866.
04 Flags
Country flags are drawn from the offline SVG set bundled with the country_flags
package rather than from emoji, so they render identically on every device. Its licence is
listed with the other software notices in the app.
05 Typefaces
Every typeface here is used under the
SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.
- Outfit — Copyright 2021 The Outfit Project Authors. Reserved Font Name: Outfit.
Used for the wordmark.
- Gowun Batang — Copyright 2021 The Gowun Batang Project Authors. Reserved Font Name:
Gowun Batang. The app-wide UI face — Latin and Hangul are both drawn by this one family.
- Pretendard — Copyright 2021 Kil Hyung-jin. Reserved Font Name: Pretendard.
The face of this website.
- Noto Sans JP — Copyright The Noto Project Authors. Used on the Japanese pages
of this website for kana and kanji, which Pretendard does not draw in Japanese forms.
The copies inside the app are unmodified. The copies this website serves are
subsets — the same outlines with every character the pages never set removed, so a
weight downloads at about 45 KB instead of a megabyte. Nothing about the drawings is
altered.
The full licence text for each ships inside the app and is shown at
Settings ▸ Licenses.
06 Open-source software
Atlas Arrows is built with Flutter and a number of open-source
packages. Because that list changes with every release, the authoritative notices are generated
from the build itself: open the app and go to Settings ▸ Licenses for the
complete, current text of every dependency's licence.
07 What is ours
The puzzles, the arrow layouts, the visa stamps, the sound effects, the app name and the logo are
created by Logan Land and are not covered by the licences above. Their use is governed by our
Terms of Service.
